River the Conservatory Dog, has been reporting to work since 2020. She is the Conservatory's official mascot, greeter, stress-reducer, and comedian. Her favorite activity is meeting prospective students and parents on audition days.

Her Australian Cattle Dog heritage makes her particularly adept at herding late students to class. When not providing pet therapy, or training faculty, staff, and students how to most efficiently dispense doggie treats, she co-teaches Dean Pertl's didjeridu classes.

She is taking over the position from Zeek the Conservatory Dog who created the role and faithfully served for 11 years. During his time at Lawrence, Zeek welcomed over 3,000 auditioning students to the Conservatory.
