Meet Our Students
Grace Weber, a physics major from Oshkosh, has used important microscopy research and a study abroad experience in Amsterdam to fuel her career plans for life after Lawrence. She is pursuing medical physics.
Lawrence University junior Annika Schmidt excels in her academic pursuits: cello and linguistics. She was recently named the co-winner of the annual Concerto Competition for the Lawrence Symphony Orchestra.
Taylor Hughes is a creative writing major and a two-sport athlete—volleyball and softball. She also works as the sports editor of The Lawrentian. It's a perfect combination of creativity and competition, she says.
Lawrence University sophomore Eitan Price, a linguistics major, attended the Linguistics Society of America’s (LSA) Summer Institute, an “intellectual summer camp” that annually gathers top professionals and students in linguistics studies.
Meet Our Faculty
Meet Garth Bond, a soccer-loving English professor whose research and teaching are heavy on classic English literature—from Shakespeare and others of the Renaissance to 16th- and 17th-century British poets.
Meet Sarah Gamalinda, who joined the Lawrence University faculty in 2022 as an assistant professor of French and francophone studies. She will be the faculty lead for Lawrence's 10-week Senegal study abroad program in spring 2025.
Meet Acacia Ackles, assistant professor of computer science, who has been developing new courses and collaborating across disciplines since arriving on campus in 2022.
Lawrence University Professor of Physics Matthew Stoneking has spent much of the past decade splitting his professional time between the Lawrence campus in Appleton and a physics research institute in Munich, Germany, all in pursuit of a novel kind of plasma.
Meet Our Staff
Juan Arguello, the second-year dean at Lawrence University, works to support sophomores and transfer students by connecting them with important resources throughout the year.
Noemi Delgado joined Lawrence earlier this year as the director of Accessibility Services and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinator. She's working to ease the process for a student’s accommodation needs to be effectively addressed.
