Are Off-Campus Programs even running right now?
  • Yes! While some programs had to cancel Fall 2021 programming due to Covid-19-related regulatory or visa issues, many programs including the London Centre are running this term. As the year continues, we hope to see the remaining programs reopen for travel and impacts to 2022-2023 travel to be few. Of course, we will keep an eye on the situation and advise students on any changes.

What are my options if I apply and my program is cancelled?

  • Upon application, carefully read your program's cancellation policy to understand their protocols. Over the past year and a half, if programs had to be canceled due to Covid-19-related travel restrictions, program providers typically allowed students to defer to a later term or semester, consider a new program, or even grant a refund. However, check with any program you are considering to be certain, and we will keep you informed as well as any new information becomes available.

What should I do if I am counting on a 2022-2023 Off-Campus Program to complete a specific academic requirement?

  • Apply! There is no indication at this point that programs for the 2022-2023 year will be impacted. If they are, then we will work with you and your faculty advisor to see if an alternative program might be suitable instead.

Will I get my deposit back if my program is cancelled due to Covid-19?

  • If London Centre or Senegal, which are Lawrence-run programs, must be cancelled, then any deposits you might have paid will remain on your student account.
  • If you were supposed to travel on an Affiliated Program, check with your specific program provider regarding your deposit. Most program providers have been very flexible when it comes to student deposits.

Will I get a refund if my program is cancelled due to Covid-19?

  • For an Affiliated Program, check with your specific program's policies regarding refunds during this time.
  • For the London Centre or Senegal, contact the Off-Campus Programs office directly by emailing OffCampusPrograms@lawrence.edu.

Are there any virtual off-campus program opportunities?

  • Some of the program providers we work with have developed virtual models. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to the Off-Campus Programs Office at OffCampusPrograms@lawrence.edu. We can help find an opportunity that fits your goals.

How can I connect with the Off-Campus Programs Office?
