Affiliated Summer Programs
The following programs have been approved by Lawrence as affiliated programs and dates generally work well with our term calendar. For these programs, please follow the standard application process as for any semester-based study abroad program, selecting Summer as your term. If you have any questions, please contact us at OffCampusPrograms@lawrence.edu.
Please note, summer programs require a separate Lawrence Off-Campus Programs application, which is due January 29, 2026.

Policy for Participation in Non-Affiliated Summer Programs (Programs not listed above)
Students may elect to participate on a non-affiliated off-campus program, but need to be aware of the following:
- Lawrence scholarships and grants cannot be applied to program costs associated with non-affiliated programs.
- Credits will not automatically transfer back to Lawrence, and in many cases will need to go through a credit evaluator at an added cost to you
- By choosing to participate in a non-affiliated program, students understand that Lawrence cannot verify the quality of educational experiences at the host institution and may have limited ability to assist in the event of health or security concerns.
- Students interested in participating in a non-affiliated program must work closely with the Off-Campus Programs office in preparing for administrative aspects of this. To start this process, students should contact OffCampusPrograms@lawrence.edu to set up Non-Affiliated travel documentation in the Off-Campus Programs student portal.
Transferring Credit for Non-Affiliated Summer Program Participation
Submit the transfer course details to the Registrar's office via the Transfer Credit Request form found on the Registrar's site. The Registrar will need to review the courses on their own merits to be sure they fit within the structure of a liberal arts curriculum. If approved, the completed coursework (upon successful completion) must be vetted through ECE or WES.
ECE/WES
If you are transferring credit from an institution outside the United States, please submit your transcripts/documents to Education Credential Evaluators, Inc (ECE) or World Education Services (WES) for evaluation.
Insurance for Summer Programs
Students participating on international affiliated programs during the summer will require insurance through our provider CISI for the duration. The cost for that is $51.25 per month and will be charged to your student account.
Students opting to participate in international non-affiliated summer programs will need to find and purchase their own international health insurance. Our office can help direct you to options if required.
