Commencement 2021 Vaccine & Testing Protocols
Lawrence University will require all students participating in the in-person Commencement ceremony on June 13, 2021, to be fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 immunization at least 2 weeks prior the ceremony. Those graduates who are unable to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at least 2 weeks prior are required to receive a negative COVID-19 test before ceremony on June 13. Lawrence recommends that all guests attending Commencement also be fully vaccinated for at least 2 weeks or be tested before attending.
Graduates living or learning on campus during Spring Term 2021 are required to attend surveillance testing on June 7 in the Wellness Center gym if they have not been fully vaccinated for 2 weeks. They will continue to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 until Commencement and notify Wellness Services (email@example.com) if any symptoms develop.
All individuals attending the in-person Commencement ceremony are asked to exercise caution and follow mitigation strategies for 14 days before Commencement. If you exhibit symptoms of COVID-19, you should not attend Commencement. Graduates living or learning on campus should email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible if they are symptomatic.
Graduates returning to campus for the in-person Commencement ceremony who are not fully vaccinated for at least 2 weeks must receive a negative COVID-19 test. Graduates should be tested no sooner than June 7. This test should be done off campus, and students need to submit documentation of their results to Wellness Services at email@example.com before June 11. PCR and antigen tests will be accepted. If graduates are unable to be tested, they should contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further instruction.
