Residence Hall Directors
Each residence hall has a professional Residence Hall Director with a special interest and training in residence education. The Residence Hall Director oversees the general day-to-day operations of the hall, supervises the Community Advisors (CAs), works closely with residents within the hall and Hall Forums to plan programs and activities for the hall, and is available for help with personal problems that may arise throughout the year. The Residence Hall Director lives in the apartment on the main floor of each of the halls in order to be accessible and available. Residence Hall Directors also serve the university in another capacity outside their halls, working in collateral assignments in a number of student-focused departments.
Colman and Brokaw Halls, Draheim, The Execs
Kate is thrilled to begin her first year as a Hall Director at Lawrence, where she will oversee Colman, Brokaw, Small Exec, and Draheim. Kate is not new to Student Affairs. She was previously a Hall Director at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and, prior to that, spent time as an Equity Specialist at Rochester Community and Technical College. As an undergraduate student, Kate studied Sociology and Communication Studies. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Botswana from 2012-2014 and went on to receive her Master's degree in Community and Economic Development in 2015. Some fun facts about Kate are: Social justice and cultural humility are her biggest passions, she has an identical twin sister, and she thoroughly enjoys coffee, traveling, and hearing about each individual's lived experience.
Kohler and Plantz Halls
Doniell is a fourth year Hall Director at Lawrence. She is excited to be working for her Alma mater as the Hall Director of Plantz and Kohler. At Lawrence she studied Anthropology and Biology and graduated in 2017. If you want to get Doniell excited mention cooking, infectious diseases, and Agatha Christie.
Hiett and Ormsby Halls
Travis Loepfe (Tra-vis Lep-Fee) is a 2nd Year Returning Hall Director who oversees Hiett and Ormsby Halls. Travis is also the LU Dice Rollers Advisor (ask Travis how to join!) After receiving his Bachelors degree in Communication-Public Relations at UW-Stevens Point, Travis traveled to Fort Hays State University in Kansas where he obtained his Masters in Higher Education Student Affairs. Travis is from Wales, Wisconsin but is really loving the Appleton area! When not working, Travis loves to create art or make crafts, play video games (mostly PC) or board games/D&D, or ride his bike. After starting during the height of the COVID 19 pandemic, Travis is excited to experience a more normal side of Lawrence University this year.
Sage and Trever Halls
Hey everyone! My name is Jordyn or J (any & all pronouns) and this will be my third year as the hall director of Trever, and my first year also as the hall director of Sage. In case you didn't know, I graduated from Lawrence in 2019 with my degree in anthropology, and I am currently finishing up my first year of training for childbirth education and maternal support. When I am not being a hall director, I am spending quality time with my 4 year old cat Princey and reading A TON (no seriously, I read between 100-150 books a year). I am so excited to get to know everyone this fall, and if you are ever in Trever, come say hi in my office!
