The Office of Residential Education and Housing is part of the Division of Student Life. We work with the approximately 1,400 residents on campus.
Our staff is responsible for the general operations of the residence halls and houses on campus. The Residence Hall Directors (RHDs), Community Advisors (CAs), and Residence Life Managers (RLMs) play an integral role in the development of a meaningful living and learning environment here on campus.
Associate Dean of Students for Residential Education and Housing
The associate dean of students for residential education and housing is responsible for the educational and social community development that is fostered outside of the classroom setting. In addition, Amy is responsible for the overall supervision of the department's staff.
Amy has been in various roles over her 22 years at Lawrence. Areas she has worked include: supervision and oversight of Residence Halls and Staff and Student Housing. In her free time she loves to travel to Disney World with friends, go to music festivals and concerts, attend Chicago Cubs games, and spend quality time with her best pal - her pup Gracie Mae!
The assistant director for housing and residential living is responsible for the initial assignment of incoming students into their residence hall rooms. Throughout the year, all room changes, requests, and problems are initiated with the hall directors who will work closely with Catherine.
Catherine returned to Lawrence in 2018 as Assistant Director for Housing and Residential Living; she previously worked in an Admissions support role (2006-2008) and was the Housing Coordinator in Residence Life (2001-2004). In her free time, Catherine is an avid Pinterest curator, enjoys doing anything creative or craft-based, and loves Paris, summertime, and tennis. Catherine has a B.F.A. in Graphic Design, holds a WI Real Estate License, and owns a design and marketing consultancy on the side since 2001. She lives in Appleton with her husband Mike, daughter Gabrielle, and Yorkie Gus.
