Ted Cloak Century Scholarship
The Ted Cloak Century Scholarship recognizes young theatre makers that who will fill the 21st Century with innovative, collaborative, clear, and nuanced productions that warm the hearts and challenge the minds of generations to come. This scholarship, given in anticipation of the 100th Anniversary of our department's founding, honors the legacy of joyful and serious theatre making in a liberal arts environment envisioned by Ted Cloak in 1930.
About the Award
The Ted Cloak Century Scholarship is renewable in future years, with the requirement that recipients participate in at least 6 departmental productions by the end of their third year.
To be considered for the award, you must audition the senior year of high school either on campus or submit a self-recording.
Scholarship Audition Information
You must complete two steps in order to participate and be considered for the Ted Cloak Century Scholarship:
- Submit your registration form along with audition materials
- Attend the Theatre Workshop. The Theatre Arts workshop is designed to connect prospective theatre makers who have applied to Lawrence with current theatre faculty and students.
Audition Material Guidelines
Participants may submit both an acting and technical audition.
Participants completing an acting audition are encouraged to submit two contrasting monologues. Your presentation should be no longer than 3 minutes.
Design and Technical Theatre
Participants completing a technical audition must submit a portfolio of their work and are encouraged to also include a written response about their portfolio.
