This meeting will facilitate meeting new members and organizing events for the rest of the year. "Our mission is to promote the advancement of medicine and biomedical technologies that will increase healthy lifespans. There should be no shame or stigma in desiring a healthy, longer life due to scientific advancement. All over the world, people grapple with the realities of the diseases and disabilities of aging. To many, the injustices of ageism are all too real. Denial of medical care, innovation, or advocacy to elderly patients is one of the cruelest forms of ageism. This denial can be as blatant as a doctor ignoring their elderly patient's concerns or as insidious as someone justifying age-related diseases like Alzheimer's disease or heart disease as necessary or desirable. We do not wish to condemn a whole cohort of humanity to the same future of death, disease, and misery of today's age-related disease. We believe a world free of age-related disease is possible and achievable through determination, ingenuity, and cooperation."

The hope is to walk away with a greater understanding of what both are, how they compare and contrast to each other, and how to do one versus the other.
