Kaitlin's Library was established in memory of Kaitlin Mahr, a member of the Lawrence University Class of 2009, whose life was tragically cut short in 2007 due to depression and an accidental overdose. As a student, Kaitlin was a member of Melee Dance Troupe and a LARY Buddy tutor.

What is Kaitlin's Library?

Kaitlin's Library is designed to change the face of mental illness recognition and reach out to Lawrence students who are struggling with life's challenges. The approach involves the use of the app Sanvello to provide a suite of tools to manage stress, anxiety and depression. It also includes a library of resources, located in the Buchanan-Kiewit Wellness Center, covering current topics in mental health and emotional well-being.

Use the Sanvello app

Sanvello is on-demand help for stress, anxiety, and depression. Practice quick activities based on cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and wellness alongside a supportive community.

Programming and resources are funded by Kaitlin’s parents Dr. and Mrs. Todd and Debra Mahr. Dr. Mahr is a member of the Lawrence University Class of 1979. The gift was made in honor of Dr. Mahr’s 40th Reunion.
