Rudi Pino, Golf
Rudi Pino grabbed fourth place at the Marian Invitational and was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week. A freshman from Vancouver, Wash., Pino carded his collegiate-low round in the tournament's first round. Playing at Morningstar Golfers Club in Waukesha, Wis., Pino carded a 4-under par 68 in the opening round. Pino followed that with a 75 on Monday for a 36-hole total of 143. Led by Pino, Lawrence placed sixth in the team standings with a score of 623. Pino was the highest finisher among the Midwest Conference players in the field.
Craig Sherwood, Men's Tennis
Craig Sherwood picked up a critical victory in Lawrence's win over Carroll and was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week. A sophomore from Kenosha, Wis., Sherwood had a perfect week for the Vikings that included a key singles victory in Lawrence’s 5-4 win over Carroll on April 13. Sherwood also posted a 2-0 record in doubles. In Lawrence’s victory over Carroll, Sherwood defeated Isaac Jordan 6-0, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 4 singles to help clinch a critical North Division win over the Pioneers. He also teamed with Brian DeCorte for an 8-5 victory at No. 3 doubles. Sherwood and DeCorte also posted an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles in Lawrence’s 9-0 win over Dominican (Ill.) on April 14.

Atley Gay, Baseball
Atley Gay went 1-0 with a microscopic 0.60 earned run average in two starts during Lawrence's spring break trip to Fort Myers, Fla. In 15 innings, the sophomore from Manitowoc, Wis., allowed 13 hits, struck out seven and walked four and the opposition hit just .228 against him. In a 2-1 victory over Gettysburg on March 16, Gay went the distance, allowed five hits, struck out five and walked three. He then got a no-decision in Lawrence's 2-1 victory over Bethany (W.V.) on March 20. He went eight innings, allowed eight hits and no runs while striking out two and walking one.
Shannon Murray, Softball
Shannon Murray hit .333 and picked up five wins on the mound during Lawrence's spring break trip to Clermont, Fla. The senior from Lawrenceville, Ga., went 11-for-33 at the plate with four doubles, a triple and eight runs batted in. She posted a 5-3 mark on the mound with a 2.47 earned run average. Murray tossed one shutout and struck out 31 and walked eight in 45.1 innings. Murray's top pitching performance of the week was a one-hit shutout in Lawrence's 2-0 victory over Benedictine (Ill.) on March 26.
Alex Chiodo, Softball
Alex Chiodo hit a team-best .393 during Lawrence's spring break trip to Clermont Fla. A junior catcher from Chicago, Ill., Chiodo went 11-for-28 at the plate. She had two doubles, one triple and drove in eight runs in 12 games. Chiodo posted a team-best .514 on-base percentage and was perfect in field on her 48 chances.
