The Lawrence Department of Athletics is proud to announce an exciting plan to take Vikings athletics to the next level—a campaign to raise $5 million to renovate the Banta Bowl. David C. Blowers ’82 and Dr. Charles A. McKee ’68 are co-chairing the campaign.
Blowers was a standout football player, captain of the Vikings during his junior and senior years, and member of a team that won three Midwest Conference Championships in a row, during his sophomore through senior years, with the 1981 team making it all the way to the NCAA Division III semi-finals. He is a member of the Lawrence University Board of Trustees.
McKee, the university physician at Lawrence, was a standout in football and track for the Vikings. As a quarterback on the football team, McKee earned All-Midwest Conference honors three times and was a first-team Associated Press All-American in 1967. McKee was part of Midwest Conference championship football squads in 1966 and 1967. The Appleton native also won six individual Midwest Conference track championships.
