April 22, 2020 is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. This important date marks 50 years of advocating for a natural environment that is viable and safe for all individuals. In addition to the following Earth Day inspired events, please attend the Sustainable Lawrence Summit on Wednesday, April 22 to help us envision a more sustainable campus and community as we chart our next steps after the culmination of Cargill.

2020 Community E-Cycle Event

April 22, 2020 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
711 E Boldt Way

Household an office electronics will be collected for recycling. There is no limit to the number of devices that can be recycled but recycling fees may apply. Fox Valley Community Members are welcome to participate.

Items with no recycling fees:

CPUs, printers, speakers, scanners, fax machines, vacuum cleaners, phones, laptops, record players, tape players, CD players, iPods, VCRs, DVD players, beta tape players, electrical saws, drills, calculators, UPSs, paper shredders, coffee machines, heaters, game systems, sewing machines, most electronic devices - unless item contains batteries within them.

Items with recycling fees:

Lawrence university staff, faculty and students can recycle one chargeable item per person for free with LU ID. If the total amount of chargeable items exceeds $1,500 or if the individual does not have an LU ID the fee will be charged to the individual.

$20 - CRT/Flat screen monitors
$20 - CRT/Flat screen TV's 29" and under
$40 - CRT/Flat screen TV's 30" and over
$60 - CRT/Flat screen TV's 50" and over
$60 - Wood Console and Projection TV's
$20 - Mini fridges/small AC units/dehumidifiers
$25 - Stoves/Washers/Dryers/Dishwashers
$15 - Microwaves/large copy machines
$10 - Hard drive removal and destruction
$1-$10 per device - Battery removal fee
