Lawrence University partners with other colleges and universities to offer summer course options through Acadeum, an online course-sharing platform. Through this partnership, Lawrence students may enroll in approved courses taught by faculty at other institutions when Lawrence is not in session.

Courses available through Acadeum are reviewed by Lawrence academic departments in coordination with the Registrar’s Office and the Provost’s Office to ensure academic quality and fit.

Academic Policies

Lawrence Credit and GPA

Acadeum courses are transcripted as Lawrence University courses, not transfer credit. Courses count toward:

  • Attempted credits
  • Earned credits
  • Academic Standing calculations
  • Lawrence GPA calculations

Lawrence University repeat policies apply to Acadeum coursework.

Acadeum Credit Conversions

Acadeum courses use a semester credit system, where coursework at Lawrence is transcripted with Lawrence Units. When Acadeum courses are added to a Lawrence transcript, credits will be converted as follows:

  • 3 Acadeum semester credits = 5 Lawrence Units
  • 4 Acadeum semester credits = 7 Lawrence Units

Students are responsible for:
