High-school-aged instrumentalists participate in an exciting five-day workshop focusing on building classical performance and chamber music skills. The camp will feature private lessons, group coaching, performance opportunities, and workshops in a collaborative environment with Lawrence Conservatory faculty and guest artists.

Lawrence is excited to bring you this incredible camp experience! 

The application deadline is May 15, a recorded audition is required, and space is limited to 16 high-school-aged students. 

Highlights of the Camp

  • Dates: Friday, July 14 – Wednesday, July 19, 2023 
  • Faculty: Clara Lyon (violin), Hannah Collins (cello), Matthew Michelic (viola), Michael Mizrahi (piano)
  • Instruments Accepted: Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello
  • Enrollment Cap: 16 (4:1 Student to Faculty Ratio)

  • Student Cost: $675 Tuition; $418 Room and Board (5 nights)

Curriculum

  • A short chamber music repertoire assignment, coached by members of our faculty, and culminating in a performance
  • Private Lesson(s)
  • Symposia – topical discussions that will help you grow your musicianship
  • Skills Development Workshops (arranging, improvising, etc.)

8:30 – 9 AM – Individual warm-up practice
9 – 10 AM – Rehearsal 
10 – 11 AM – Coaching 
11 AM – 12 PM – Symposium 
12 – 1 PM – Lunch 
1 – 2:30 PM – Chamber Rehearsal
2:30 – 5 PM – Downtime  
5 – 6 PM – Dinner 
6 – 7 PM – Group Music Making (improv, songwriting, large ensemble playing) 
7 – 9:30 PM – Fun Curated Activity
