In search of more meaningful, people-centered work, I left corporate finance and marketing in 2004 and found my calling in higher education. Since then, I’ve served in roles from Director of Financial Aid to my current position as Dean across three different universities, leading strategic enrollment efforts, serving teams, and creating a student experience that is infused from my Disney training. While my day-to-day doesn't have me meeting with students as often, this work is deeply personal and can assure you will be seen and known by name here at Lawrence!
What’s your favorite spot on the Lawrence campus?
There are so many favorite spots on campus, but for me the water is my peace place. Since we are located on the banks of the Fox River, literally anywhere along the river works. Perhaps my ideal setting though is a brisk fall morning when the leaves have just started to change and I am holding my cup of coffee gazing into the beauty of nature as I get ready to embrace the day that has been gifted to us.
What’s your favorite thing about the Appleton community?
The Appleton area and community is incredibly welcoming, so it's no surprise that when it comes to food and beverages we also do that well. My favorite place downtown is Copper Rock during the day, whether for a coffee or bite to eat...but in the evening or weekends I tuly enjoy the atmosphere and beverages at McFleshman's Brewing (owned by Lawrence's very own Chemistry professor and her husband).
