Kellyn Gagner served as the costume technician at the Peninsula Players Theatre and costume shop manager for the University of Wisconsin Green Bay before returning to her alma mater, Lawrence University, as costume shop supervisor. With a background in costume construction, she brings joy for the craft of garment making to her interactions with students and her theatrical design. Interest in historical garments fuels her continued exploration into the broad field of traditional stitching and dyeing methods. Fabric repair, sustainability and reuse are also of great importance to her. Her work in escape rooms allowed her to expand broader creative skills, from puzzle design to mural painting, musical composition to giant mushroom construction. Those skills are now put to use fostering well-rounded creativity and resourceful problem-solving in her theatre-making communities.
Enthusiastic for all forms of storytelling, Kellyn studied English literature, focusing on creative writing. Her 2D art practice reinforces exploration of character and storytelling through digital and traditional mediums, particularly watercolor.
