About
Valerie Young is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marquette University. Valerie graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology.
Valerie’s always been drawn to understanding people’s stories and what helps them heal and grow, which is what led her to this field. She's especially interested in trauma-informed care, identity development, and helping students navigate life transitions. Valerie's goal is to create a warm, supportive space where students feel safe, seen, and empowered. Outside of her counseling work, Valerie enjoys exploring her family genealogy, playing guitar, and spending time with the people she cares about.
