Mattigan Haller heads into her senior year on track to pursue a medical career. She has done so by following her academic passions while playing softball and connecting with the medical world while studying in Mexico.

Lawrence University geosciences professor Jeff Clark and two students are building handheld spectrometers for use in research and hands-on instruction. It's funded by a $10,000 grant from the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium.

Taylor Hughes is a creative writing major and a two-sport athlete—volleyball and softball. She also works as the sports editor of The Lawrentian. It's a perfect combination of creativity and competition, she says.

Jonathan Bass, a fifth-year senior at Lawrence, won the Young Artist Performance Piano division in a statewide competition of the Music Teachers National Association. Four other Lawrence students earned honors.
