About

Brent Hauer has held an interest in music ever since he first picked up a trombone in his hometown of Hudson, Wisconsin.  In 2005, after graduating from Hudson Senior High School, he toured as a baritone instrumentalist with the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps.  He began his formal musical journey as a trombone student at Lawrence University ('10) where he studied with Nick Keelan.  Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree in Trombone Performance, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a musician.  After basic training, he was stationed with the 2d Marine Division Band, Camp Lejeune, NC where he served as a trombone instrumentalist and sound engineer.  After 4 years in the Marine Corps, he transferred to the United States Army to serve primarily as a sound engineer with the 101st Airborne Division Band, Fort Campbell, KY.  In 2016, Brent deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.  After 3 years in the US Army, he ended his active-duty service and chose to further his education by obtaining a Master of Science degree in Audio Engineering Technology at Belmont University ('19).  Shortly after graduation, Brent began working as a recording engineer for the Aspen Music Festival and School.  He started working at Lawrence University in September of 2019 and is currently the Director of Recording and Technology and Lecturer in Recording Arts.
