Teen Camp Double-Reed Adventure will be a side-by-side conference experience on the Lawrence University campus with a multitude of international bassoonists and oboists while participating in special events specifically for teens, including:
Teen master classes, workshops, reed classes, and our very own Teen Camp Double-Reed Ensemble
Attendance at select IDRS recitals, concerts, and presentations
Recreational activities and fun times with other teen double-reed players
Designated time to visit the vast array of international vendor exhibits of double-reed instruments, music, and accessories
Camp Begins on Monday Afternoon, June 19 (Welcome begins at 2:00pm)
Plan to arrive in Appleton (airport, bus station, or directly on campus) at 2:00pm or later on Monday, June 19.
Let us know if you need to arrive earlier and we will make arrangements to welcome you then.
Overnights for Teen Camp will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights -- having campers arrive the afternoon/early evening (depending on individual travel plans) before the conference begins allows for a more peaceful start.
Camp Ends on Thursday Afternoon, June 22 (Between 2:00 and 4:00pm)
Our official program activities will end on Thursday afternoon after lunch and an end-of-camp gathering, with camper departure (or transfer of responsibility back to parent or guardian) any time between 2:00pm and 4:00pm, depending on individual travel plans. Students who have traveled quite a distance may need to leave earlier rather than later -- we will plan our end-of-camp gathering accordingly so no one misses out. (Let us know if a later departure time is needed.)
We will provide transportation as needed to and from campus at the beginning and end of camp.(Parents/guardians will receive a form to fill out to let us know the specific travel plans of their child.)
