Mr. Ayabe retired from the firm of Ayabe, Chong, Nishimoto, Sia & Nakamura, having served as its managing partner for 25 years. Previously, he served as Hawaii’s deputy attorney general from 1970-72.

Mr. Ayabe earned a bachelor’s degree in government from Lawrence and a law degree from the University of Iowa.
