About

My research focuses on 18th-century keyboard music in performance, and I have published and presented on musical portraiture in keyboard works by Domenico Scarlatti and François Couperin, and on sympathetic collaborative accompaniment in C. P. E. Bach. My teaching interests include intersections of music and power in France under Louis XIV and in colonial exchanges in the early modern era, issues of national identity in the German Lied, musical expressions of faith in the medieval early modern eras, and the study of early music revivals. I have also contributed to the Journal of Music History Pedagogy and am a member of the editorial board of Open Access Musicology.
