About
Lina Goggins-Rendon
Senior Assistant Dean of Admissions, Western Regional Representative
Serves and supports first-year students from Arizona, California, Hawai’i, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming
I started working in admission in 2021 and discovered my passion for recruitment, public speaking, and being part of the support system for students embarking on their journey to higher education. Fostering relationships with students, their families, school counselors, and other admission counselors is important to me. It truly takes a village, and I’m honored to provide guidance and encouragement along the way.
Where’s your favorite place to eat or grab coffee in Appleton?
My favorite spot is Appleton Bundt House, a few blocks away from campus. The made-from-scratch cakes are the most delicious treats for any celebration, whether it’s a birthday, first-year convocation, or simply because you’re craving a sweet treat. In addition to full-size cakes, they also bake Bundt Bites and Bundt Delights. The chocolate velvet and the turtle bundt cakes will blow your mind.
What’s your favorite thing about the Appleton community?
The Appleton community is genuinely welcoming and friendly. As someone who had never been to Wisconsin before, this really stood out to me. Also, Appleton is so beautiful. Located near the river, the nature on campus made me feel at peace. The Sustainable Lawrence University Gardens (SLUG) has a perennial fruit tree orchard and honeybee apiary. The appreciation of nature, both on campus and off, is really special.
