Kristi Koshuta

First Year Dean

I am a purpose-driven higher education leader and proud First-Gen college graduate, passionate about empowering First-Gen and underserved populations to thrive. Guided by my strengths in Individualization, Strategic Thinking, and Activator, I create meaningful connections and innovative opportunities that build confidence, leadership, and engagement on campus. With a deep belief in transformative education and a commitment to excellence, I maximize both individual potential and community impact to drive lasting student success.

First Year Dean’s Role:  

  • Support new first-year students and families from deposit through the end of their first year
  • On-campus support for visit events, committed student days
  • Summer Orientation
  • Welcome Week Programming
  • EPIC Orientation and Peer Leader hiring, training, development and support
  • First Year Experience Implementation – Peer mentoring, programming, and connection to Alumni
  • 1-1 student support and accountability
  • Support and guide students on probation
  • Coordinate with Faculty and Staff and learn more about student strengths and needs and how those can be worked into programming
  • Meet with families of prospective students and athletes
  • Connect students with campus and community resources to support their success at Lawrence
