Music & Theatre

Odyssey

The Odyssey Immersion Program combines small, faculty-led classes with learning experiences that happen in the places you visit—museums, neighborhoods, natural spaces, and cultural landmarks. Your learning doesn’t stay in one place; the Odyssey Immersion Program takes you from the shores of Lake Michigan to the energy and history of London, with additional destinations that highlight culture, community, and the natural world.

Strange Loops

July 12-August 1, 2026 | Grades 11-12

Explore the interconnected worlds of Gödel’s mathematics, Escher’s art, and Bach’s music to uncover the “strange loops” at the heart of creativity, consciousness, and paradox—through geometry, philosophy, artificial intelligence, and more. 

Illuminate

July 12-August 1, 2026 | Grades 11-12

Across multiple arts disciplines, explore how collaboration, creativity, and reflective practice shape your artistic voice—from managing performance anxiety to refining skills, engaging in critique, and building a compelling portfolio. 

Invisible Worlds, Visible Impact 

July 12-August 1, 2026 | Grades 11-12

Through labs, fieldwork, site visits, and historical reenactments, investigate how microbes shape health, environments, and societies—past, present, and future.

Stardust Memories 

July 12-August 1, 2026 | Grades 11-12

Drawing from physics, literature, and art, explore evolving ideas about the structure and origins of the cosmos—and our place within it. 

Ascent

The Ascent Summer Institute invites you into transformative, on-campus academic experiences at Lawrence University. Ascent is based on Lawrence University’s downtown Appleton, Wisconsin campus, where you’ll live and learn just steps from the Fox River and a vibrant downtown. For Aviation, the classroom extends beyond campus to places like Appleton International Airport, Fox Valley Technical College, Fox Valley Lutheran High School, and EAA facilities.

The Art of Video Games

Unleash creativity through game design—exploring visual art, storytelling, world-building, and code. 

Creative Collaboration for Theater

July 6-10, 2026 | Ages 14-18

Experience intensive theatre collaboration through physical warmups, stagecraft, character development, choreography, and performance—culminating in a cabaret-style showcase. 

Understanding & Using GIS Mapping

July 13-17, 2026 | Ages 14-18

Discover how maps shape the modern world—from city planning and disaster response to geocaching and global navigation—through hands-on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) exploration. 

Aviation

Aviation Summer Camp is a hands-on exploration of the science and excitement of flight for high school students. 

Athletics

LU Basketball Camp

Various Dates June-August | Ages 9-18 | COED

The LU Men’s Basketball is excited to bring back its Summer Basketball Camp. Designed for students of all skill levels to improve and refine their skills and basketball knowledge.

LU Lacrosse Camp

August 1 | Grades 9-12 | COED

Interested in playing Lacrosse in college? LU Lacrosse is excited to offer its Summer Lacrosse Prospect Camp. Work with the coaching staff of Lawrence’s NCAA D3 team to explore playing Lacrosse in college and work on skills drills with top coaches. 

Nike Soccer Camps (Day)

June 16-19, July 14-17, August 4-7, 2025 | Ages 6-15 | Coed

These soccer camp sessions are designed to be fun, educational, challenging, and competitive. The Complete Skills Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental soccer skills, and enhance their skill set at their desired position. Choose from three-day camp dates.

Nike Swim Camps (Day)

June 29-July 3, 2025, July 7-11, 2025 | Ages 11-18 | Coed

USSC is proud to offer our 9th Nike Swim Camp in Wisconsin at Lawrence University. Designed for competitive swimmers to improve and refine their stroke technique our goal at the Nike Swim Camp is to teach the things that will make the biggest difference to your performance. Extended day and overnight options.

Novice Viking’s Track & Field Camp (Day)

July 28-30, 2025 | Grades 3-7 | Coed

The LU coaching staff is going to teach athletes foundational skills required to participate track & field events. This summer camp will teach you how to properly approach your event through event-specific drills, track workouts, nutrition education breakouts, and building mental strength during competition.

Skilled Viking’s Track & Field Camp (Day)

June 25-26, July 28-30, 2025 | Grades 8-12* | Coed

The LU coaching staff is going to teach athletes the skills required to compete at the next level and maximize their potential on and off the track in up to two events. This summer camp will teach you how to properly approach your events through event-specific drills, track workouts, nutrition education breakouts, and building mental strength during competition. *Or anyone younger who is proficient

Björklunden Seminars

We hope you’ll join us for one (or more!) of our Björklunden seminars. These classes are fondly referred to as “vacations with a purpose.” You’ll learn and grow while experiencing the hominess of our lodge and the natural beauty of Lawrence’s Door County campus.
