Lawrence University is excited to launch a new Commuter Student Program, designed to provide access to a remarkable education close to home for outstanding students in our region who, for personal or family reasons, choose to live at home while pursuing their degree.
We at Lawrence recognize that the college experience looks different for every student. Commuter students balance academics, home, work, and travel, and Lawrence is committed to ensuring they feel supported, connected, and empowered.
Through dedicated Commuter Student Resources, participants will have access to:
- A commuter lounge in the Mudd Library with study space, appliances, and a welcoming environment.
- Lockers and storage options for convenience throughout the academic year.
- Targeted engagement opportunities, including commuter‑specific events and a Commuter Welcome during LU Welcome Week.
- Meal plan options tailored to commuter lifestyles, ensuring access to campus dining.
- Transportation and parking resources, along with guest housing options to support involvement in campus activities.
- Safety and academic support services, including the LU Alert system and access to the Center for Academic Success.
By integrating commuter students into the full academic and co‑curricular life of the university, this program strengthens Lawrence’s ties to the Fox Cities community and expands opportunities for the region’s best students to thrive.
We look forward to welcoming our commuter students and building a vibrant, inclusive community where every student belongs—no matter where they live.
