John GreenwaldJon Greenwald, a former Lawrence University Scarff Distinguished Visiting Professor of Diplomacy and Foreign Policy, will discuss Ukraine in an Oct. 10 lecture at Lawrence University.

 

The lecture, The War in Europe—the U.S. Stake in Ukraine’s Success, Is part of the 2023-24 Povolny Lecture Series in International Studies. It begins at 4:30 p.m. in Steitz Hall 102. A reception is planned for 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Greenwald is a retired senior U.S. diplomat, having spent more than 30 years focused on diplomacy between East-West, the Middle East, the European Union, and various aspects of international law. He spent the 1998-99 academic year teaching courses on the origins of war and the Cold War at Lawrence under the auspices of the Scarff Professorship.
