Giving Day 2025: Björklunden Recap

$87,000 an hour.  Imagine.  Over the course of one day, just 24 hours, 1819 donors raised $2,086,566 – a new record for Lawrence’s Giving Day.  Wow!

Björklunden also gratefully realized a new fundraising benchmark on this Giving Day. An ambitious Challenge of $62,800 was set by Friends of Björklunden leaders and others, this challenge was met and exceeded, resulting in an additional $76,468 for a total of $139,268!  This is the third consecutive year of a dedicated ‘Bjorklunden Giving Day.’  Each year since 2023, the challenge goal set has steadily increased and been met if not exceeded. 

Matt Baumler, Interim VP of University Advancement, said it best – “This is a testament to the strength of our Lawrence community.”  Generous and consistent donor support is vital to Bjorklunden’s ongoing programs and building maintenance.  Roughly half of Bjorklunden’s operating budget comes from the Seminars, approximately 25% comes from other earned income (rentals), and more than 25% comes from donations inclusive of fundraising efforts such as Lawrence’s Giving Day.  Every dollar makes a difference.
