Program Overview
Mathematics at Lawrence develops students’ capacity to think precisely, reason creatively, and apply mathematical, statistical, and computational frameworks to problems of all sorts. Students acquire a strong foundation in their first two years that supports their exploration of advanced electives and a senior experience. Working with faculty and peers in small classes, students learn to read, write, and discuss mathematics in a clear and persuasive manner. Graduates are prepared for careers that value nuanced analytical thinking and creative problem solving, including finance, consulting, teaching, business, actuarial work, and graduate school in mathematics or related disciplines.

Types of Degrees
Students can pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics or a combined Mathematics-Economics major. A minor in Mathematics is also available.
