Community is a central feature of the Lawrence experience. Kindness is a key component of community, particularly a community like Lawrence's that values acceptance and belonging. In the lead-up to the inauguration of Laurie A. Carter as the 17th President of Lawrence University, there will be a community-wide campaign beginning April 27: 17 Days of Kindness.

What is 17 Days of Kindness?

17 Days of Kindness will be an opportunity to showcase the best of our community through a mix of events, gratitude, and a celebration of the intentional and random acts of kindness that make Lawrence so special. Events will include Sunday S'mores with President Carter at Hamar House, campus food and other giveaways throughout the 17 Days, opportunities to share gratitude with those who have impacted Lawrence students virtually and in person, and kindness to ourselves through self-care.

Mark your calendars for the launch of 17 Days of Kindness on April 27!

Be sure to stay tuned to @lawrenceuni on Instagram and look for the #BeKindLU through the 17 Days for virtual opportunities to celebrate and practice kindness.
