Faculty AI Task Force

This Friday, September 25, the Faculty AI Task Force opens its year-long series with a free public screening of The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist, followed by an open conversation. We’d love to have you there.

About the film
The AI Doc is directed by Daniel Roher, who won the Academy Award for Navalny, with Charlie Tyrell, and is produced by Daniel Kwan and Jonathan Wang, the Oscar-winning team behind Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Roher, about to become a father, sets out to understand what is actually happening with AI. He talks with the people building it (Sam Altman, Dario and Daniela Amodei, Demis Hassabis) and with critics and observers (Emily Bender, Timnit Gebru, Karen Hao, Yoshua Bengio, Yuval Noah Harari, Tristan Harris). The film takes the downsides of artificial intelligence seriously, gives the advocates room, and offers no conclusion. It leaves us space to disagree, which is where we’d like the conversation to begin.
