About

Gianna R. D'Amico

Assistant Dean of Admissions

Serves and supports first-year students from northern Illinois (excluding Chicago), Florida, and eastern Wisconsin
As a first-generation college graduate, I’m passionate about breaking generational barriers, educating students on the right academic fit, and crossing the college search “finish line.” I had the pleasure of working for Eckerd College’s admission office for three years (my alma mater), giving me the foundational skills to work in the liberal arts education space. As a new Wisconsin resident as of July 2024, I intentionally found myself at Lawrence. First, as an Annual Gift Officer, working with alumni and donors to philanthropically support the university. Now, in this role, I am delighted to return to the world of Admissions!

Where’s your favorite place to eat or grab coffee in Appleton?

My favorite bite to eat downtown is Emery & Pearl. Growing up in South Florida, delis were a staple. I am grateful to have this fabulous deli within walking distance of campus! They also have a small grocery store if I need to pick anything up. The owner is awesome and she loves the LU community! My favorite coffee shop is Il Bar.

What’s your favorite thing about the Appleton community?

From the Performing Arts Center à la cARTe night in the fall to Half Price Books (my favorite store), the Farm Market on Saturdays, and all of the fabulous coffee shops, I have easily found my home here in the vibrant Appleton. I think you will too!
