William J. Baer ’72

Mr. Baer is a Visiting Fellow at The Brookings Institution, where he writes and provides commentary on antitrust and competition law matters. He served as Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice from 2013 to 2016 and as Director of the Bureau of Competition at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) from 1995 to 1999. Mr. Baer earned a bachelor’s degree in government from Lawrence and a law degree from Stanford Law School.
