About

Julie McQuinn (she/her/hers)

Professor of Music

I teach courses on Claude Debussy, opera, film music, music and gender, music and memory, music and the fairy tale, and music and disability.  My teaching converges with my research interests.  I am deeply invested in the ways that musicking intertwines with elements of identity, the ambiguities and possibilities of meaning making, and the spaces musicking can open up for kinship and becoming beyond the control of normative forces.
