About Leadership

Leadership

Lawrence University’s leaders are responsible for the stewardship and well-being of our institution.

Our president, along with her leadership team and the Board of Trustees, ensures we are true to what our founder, Amos Lawrence, called “a great and good work.”  Together, they oversee the university’s academic mission, strategic initiatives, and financial health, among other key institutional priorities.

President Laurie A. Carter

A strategic and dedicated leader in higher education, President Laurie A. Carter joined the Lawrence community in July 2021 as the university’s 17th president.

President’s Cabinet

The President’s Cabinet supports President Carter to ensure that the university meets its mission, pursues its strategic goals, and ensures the well-being of the university and its community. Cabinet members represent all areas of the institution.

Board of Trustees

Lawrence’s Board supports the development of university strategic initiatives and priorities, and ensures the fiscal and operational health of the university through management of the institution’s investments and oversight of its finances.

Veritas Est Lux

Lawrence’s strategic plan, Veritas Est Lux, will have direct and lasting impact on five key areas: curriculum, community, student success, affordability, and resources.
