
Program Overview
At Lawrence, Computer Science students learn to approach computation as both a rigorous discipline and a creative craft. Early courses establish core principles of programming, abstraction, and theory, equipping students to pursue elective work and a senior experience in areas such as artificial intelligence, systems programming, graphics, machine learning, and the ethics of computing. Small class sizes and close attention from faculty result in strong preparation that outlasts any specific language or tool. Graduates pursue a variety of paths, including software engineering, IT, data science, entrepreneurship, and graduate study.
