As a reminder, all students approved as summer housing residents do not need to check out of housing at the end of the year.  All summer residents will remain in their current housing assignment until summer move-in on June 12.

On-campus housing is offered to 2017-2018 continuing students who are employed at least 10 hours per week by Lawrence University, are doing paid summer research, or have an approved summer internship coordinated through Career Services. Summer housing is not open to graduating seniors. Failure to maintain 10 hours per week may result in eviction from housing. Housing will be assigned through a seniority-based lottery for rooms in Colman Hall.

Applying for Summer Housing:

  1. Secure on campus employment or Career Services endorsed internship (at least 10 hours per week) before April 25, 2017 (please note: employment applications are due to Human Resources by February 6, 2017).
  2. Turn in a Summer Housing Application to the Campus Life Office before April 25, 2017. The summer housing application is available here.
  3. After you turn in your Summer Housing Application, you will need to pay your summer housing deposit to the Cashier in Brokaw (the Cashier will not accept your payment without the invoice). This must be paid by April 25, 2017 by 3pm at the Cashier in order to select housing on April 27, 2017.
    • Instructions for students paying the summer housing deposit online:
      • Log into Voyager
      • Select ‘Student Services’ at the top
      • Select ‘Your Student Account’ at the bottom
      • Once in CashNet select ‘Make a Payment’
      • There is a box on the right hand side that has where you can select ‘Summer Housing’
      • It will then prefill the $50.00 amount due for the deposit
    • Instructions for parents paying the summer housing deposit online:
      • Go to https://commerce.cashnet.com/lawrencepay
      • Once in CashNet select ‘Make a Payment’
      • There is a box on the right hand side that has where you can select ‘Summer Housing’
      • It will then prefill the $50.00 amount due for the deposit
  4. Attend summer housing selection on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 4:30pm in the Hurvis Room.

Non-Lawrence University Student Housing

We can provide housing for non-LU summer interns, on the following conditions:

  • Non-LU summer interns may be housed on campus only during our normal summer student housing period. For 2017, these dates are June 25 – August 5. Non-LU summer interns may not move in prior to June 24 nor stay past August 4. This is to ensure that non-LU summer residents don’t displace LU students and that Facilities has 2 days to thoroughly clean all non-LU summer resident rooms before and after their stay.
  • Non-LU summer internship residents must be enrolled in a post-secondary degree program of some kind, or be completing an internship related to a degree they have just completed.
  • Non-LU summer internship residents must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Lawrence will contract only with employers of the interns, not with individuals.
  • Air conditioned housing cannot be guaranteed.
