Commencement Ushers Needed
Have the honor of seeing your friends graduate - volunteer to usher at Commencement and receive free room and board and meals for the weekend. Fill out the Commencement Usher Application 2016 and return to Jillian Johnson in the Conservatory by Wednesday, May 25th.
Fourth annual screening of the Civic Life Project
Join us for the fourth annual screening of the Civic Life Project, an evening of film and conversation on Tuesday, May 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Warch Campus Center's Somerset Room.
The four LU student-produced films are
- Breaking the Silence: Unseen Racism An examination of how racism goes unseen in a college town.
- Brown Water A film looking at the interaction between dairy farming and groundwater quality.
- A Generation On Change A transgender youth fights for not only her rights, but also for other transgender youths in the Fox Valley.
- Mental Health in the Prison System An exploration into the value and use of mental health diagnosis and treatment in the criminal justice system.
A conversation between the audience and the filmmakers will follow each film. Registration is encouraged.
Caps and Gowns for Seniors
A representative will be on campus April 21 and 22 to take orders for cap/gown/tassel sets. Seniors should stop by the table near the mailroom in the Warch Campus Center during the following times:
Thursday, April 21 - 10am-4pm
Friday, April 22 - 10am-4pm
Orders can also be made online at http://collegegrad.herffjones.com. Announcements and frames are also available for purchase on the site.
The cost of a cap/gown/tassel set is $18.95 through May 7; the price will increase to $38.95 after that date. Cost of a double-degree cap/gown/tassel set is higher.
Pickup: Cap/gown/tassel sets, which are required for participation in the June commencement ceremony, can be picked up June 8 (10am-4pm) and June 9 (10am-40m) at the Esch Hurvis Room in the campus center.
