Current and former students may obtain an official transcript of their Lawrence work by submitting a request to the Registrar’s Office online through the Voyager Information System. Federal law governs the release of this information and we cannot honor requests made by phone, e-mail, or third parties.
Transcript Order Process and Fees
Transcripts will not be released if an outstanding financial obligation to Lawrence University exists.
The transcript fee of $5.00 per transcript covers delivery by Secure Electronic Delivery (SED). Other delivery options are available including USPS, USPS priority mail, fax, and overnight shipping. Up to five transcripts (copies included) may be requested in a 24 hour period.
Transcript orders must be pre-paid. Payment can be made by credit card/e-check on the Voyager ordering page. Current students may charge transcript fees to their student accounts when the term is in session.
Requests are filled in the order in which they are received. Secure Electronic Delivery (SED) transcripts will be process first. Please allow 2-3 business days and a week or more at peak times (end of term sessions, January, and June) for your order to be processed before it is shipped. Orders placed by current students after classes end will not be processed until grading and the term academic action review are complete.
Transcripts released to a current or former student will be marked ‘Issued to Student’.
About Secure Electronic Delivery
Secure Electronic Delivery (SED) is a new delivery method offered by Lawrence University as of November 2018. This delivery method is the most expedient method of delivery. SED transcripts issued by Lawrence University are considered to be official transcripts and are certified by a digital seal and special security characteristics. To verify authenticity, the recipient will receive instructions on how to authenticate the official SED transcript. This will include email instructions that the recipient must take to access the transcript using a pin and password.
Students that attended Lawrence University in 2002 to present are eligible for SED transcript delivery at this time. Students that attended prior to this time will be able to request a transcript to be delivered by email, mail, priority mail, or fax.
SED transcript delivery is becoming increasingly common. However, before requesting this method of transcript delivery, you should verify that the recipient will accept an electronic transcript delivered securely. Additionally, it is important that you verify the appropriate email address for transmission of the transcript.
At this time, enclosures cannot be sent via SED. The transcript must be mailed to an agency if an enclosure is required.
If you are sending the transcript to a third party, a courtesy email notification will be sent to you when the recipient has received their retrieval instructions.
The recipient has 30 days to access your SED transcript before it expires. If the recipient does not receive the email including the password and pin to access the transcript, please have the recipient check their junk mail for the email. Lawrence University will send a preliminary email to the recipient that indicates the pin and password will be delivered shortly and to check junk mail if it is not received within 30 minutes of the preliminary email. The recipient will be given the option to click a link to access the transcript. If they choose not to click the link, they will have instructions on retrieving the transcript by navigating to the Lawrence University website to ensure authenticity of the transcript.
