Camp Goals and Information

The Lawrence University Girls Basketball Camps provide an excellent opportunity for girls to increase their knowledge of basketball, to further develop the skills necessary to become a successful player, and to have fun.  Our goal is to make sure every camper has fun and learns something that she can take with her to keep developing into a well-rounded basketball player. Camps are held at Alexander Gymnasium (1100 E South River St., Appleton).

What to Expect

Shooting Academy

The focus of this camp is to teach proper shooting form and work through a variety of game-like shooting drills to master the art of shooting. In addition, campers will be taught proper footwork that goes along with taking good shots, how to get open and ways to create their own shot off the dribble.

Each camper will be given specific individual instruction, shooting form analysis and immediate feedback. In addition, players will walk away from camp with a hard copy shooters workout to be used at home.

A typical camp routine includes:

  1. Ball handling and dribble warm-up
  2. Shooting demonstration and instruction
  3. Progressive shooting drills
  4. Game-like shooting workouts
  5. Shooting games

Players are welcome to sign up for both Shooting Academy sessions
