Lawrence University Symphonic Band in performance

The Symphonic Band, under the direction of Matthew Arau, is an auditioned, high caliber ensemble that performs five concerts per year. Recent repertoire performed by this ensemble includes the world premiere of Aakash Mittal's Samay Raga for Wind Ensemble, Theresa Martin's Radiance, Steven Bryant's Ecstatic Waters, Daniel Montoya Jr.'s my consciousness..., Vincent Persichetti's Symphony No. 6, and Eric Whitacre's EquusThe Lawrence University Symphonic Band honors the ever-increasing repertoire written by composers from previously under-represented populations. The Symphonic Band is over 60% music majors but still provides a musical outlet for students from a broad range of majors outside the Conservatory.  At Lawrence we believe that the ensemble performance experience should be available to all capable musicians, not just those studying in the Conservatory.

All large ensemble concerts performed in the Lawrence Memorial Chapel can be enjoyed around the world through our live, four-camera video webcasts.
