IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING RON ROBERTS FIELD AT THE BANTA BOWL
Please note that Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl remains under construction, but we have an update on the facility.
The main parking lot is now open and fans may also park on Banta Court and in the Mead Pool parking lot on John Street.
Fans may enter only through the main gate or the visitors gate on the east side of the stadium (the side opposite the press box). The west gate is for entry and exit of the teams only. For soccer matches, all fans are required to sit in the home stands opposite the benches. While the building is nearing completion, it is not yet ready for the public. The building restrooms are closed so please use the portable bathroom facilities located near the plaza.
Thanks for your patience and understanding as we work through the completion of the facility.
After earning varsity status in 1974, the Lawrence men's soccer program has enjoyed periods of great success and made several trips to the Midwest Conference title game. The Vikings won the league crown in 1985 and finished second in 1989 and 2005. Lawrence has enjoyed a resurgence in recent seasons under head coach Blake Johnson. The Vikings qualified for the four-team Midwest Conference Tournament in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2011 and Johnson was the Midwest Conference Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2005. Along with 10 Midwest Conference games, the Vikings play a challenging non-conference schedule of regional and nationally-ranked opponents.
