Global Diversity General Education Requirement

Participation in programs listed with a (G) designation below will automatically fulfill the Global Diversity general education requirement.  Students participating in a program that does not have a (G) designation below can use the regular petition process to have a particular course taken in their program to fulfill the Global Diversity requirement.  Students who wish to have their off-campus programs work applied toward general education requirements in a particular way should petition the Faculty Subcommittee on Administration with support from the relevant academic department before participation in the program.

The ACM London and Florence Program draws comparisons among the historical and political contexts of art, architecture, literature, and theatre in two historically prominent cities. Coursework is supplemented by visits to museums, galleries, and theatres; short trips to other areas of England and Italy; and discussions with local scholars. Students spend eight weeks in each city. An optional intensive course in Italian language is offered in January. Faculty Advisors: Kathy Privatt & Carol Lawton

No previous language study is required. The program is open to seniors, juniors, and advanced sophomores.

This program will not be offered after the 2018-2019 academic year.

Offering Note: This program is offered in Spring semester. An abbreviated term long version is also available where students participate in the first half of the program in Florence only.
