Our feminist agenda is intersectional - we are committed to putting feminism in conversation with issues of gender expression, sexuality, race, class, ability, etc. Some issues of interest to us as college feminists include rape culture, domestic abuse, sexual harassment, workspace and academic equality, and access to reproductive healthcare. Past events include Take Back the Night, Vagina Monologues, a March to End Victim Blaming, Cookies and Contraceptives with Planned Parenthood, and more.

We are here to help break stigmas and overcome the fears surrounding academic environments and cognitive disabilities. Our mission is to educate and initiate awareness for students, faculty, and friends. Mr. Curt Lauderdale (Fac/Staff/Stud Advisor) curt.lauderdale@lawrence.edu
Description
Lawrence University Community Council is the student governing body at Lawrence. The council has authority to legislate policies affecting non-curricular campus concerns. The president and vice president are elected through all-campus elections in which students and faculty may vote. Cabinet members are appointed by the president and vice president subject to approval by the council. Residence halls, theme and group houses, and off-campus students have representation on the council through 14 representatives elected by students within defined constituencies. Faculty members collectively appoint four representatives. The General Council usually meets bi-weekly throughout the academic year. Members serve on the council and also on one of several standing committees, including the Finance Committee, Steering Committee, and Polling, Elections, and Leadership Committee. Campus organizations may each designate an official liaison to the council who may take a seat at council meetings, participate in discussion, and recommend legislation to come before the council. Liaisons may not make motions or vote in council proceedings, however.

Description
The purpose of Slam Poetry Club is to provide a place where students in the Lawrence community can come together to celebrate the art of slam poetry through performing pieces of their own work and holding monthly poetry slams. The Slam Poetry Club provides students a time and place in which they can showcase and express their ideas/opinions/beliefs through poetic form. In our weekly meetings we will allow time for poets to share pieces that they have written and plan monthly poetry slams in which we can share our poetry to the rest of the LU community. Slam Poetry is a very expressive, interactive art that is unlike any other forms of writing. As an organization, our purpose is to use Slam Poetry as a way to help members of the LU community find their voice and use it to Inspire, Connect, and Express.

Meeting Information
Meeting Tuesdays, 7:00 PM, Wriston Art Center
Contacts
Alexis Bradley Ames alexis.b.ames@lawrence.edu
Description
The Wriston Art Collective is a club that is designed to give studio art majors, and non-majors alike, opportunities to participate in and enjoy art related activities that will create a positive impact on their lives. More generally, we wish to promote the visual arts to the entire campus. Many of our activities, such as weekly figure drawing, are available to anyone who wishes to practice and improve their drawing and observational skills. We also participate in fund-raising activities that impact the community in Appleton as well as those around the globe. In order to further student's art education and appreciation, we plan trips to museums so they can observe art in person, rather than just on slides and online. We also try to work with the more medium specific art clubs on campus to create unique opportunities for students on campus.
