A Letter from the Dean of Career Services
Dear Parents & Guardians,
As Winter Term gets underway, we continue to offer programming which supports the relationship between academic planning and career planning within a liberal arts environment. We do this in collaboration with alumni, faculty, staff, parents and community partners.
In an effort to meet the diverse needs of our students, we have scheduled events with organizations such as: the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, Deloitte, Disney, Green Bay Packers and others. In addition to providing experiences with organizations in a number of fields, we also recognize students learn in different ways and therefore offer a variety of venues – webcasts, on-campus and off-campus visits and 1:1 connections with alumni. For more information, please refer to our Winter Term 2013 Career Services brochure.
The following is a sampling of how your student can explore his/her options for Life After Lawrence NOW:
- researching and planning for summer internships, including attending Internships 101
- honing personal statements for graduate and/or professional school applications
- participating in the Commercial Banking & Private Wealth Management, Arts & Entertainment, Medicine and Environmental sessions on Saturday, Feb. 2
For Spring Term, we are currently in the process of updating the Seniors: Support, Strategies and Success (S4) sessions which we offered Fall Term and finalizing our on-campus and off-campus visits.
Thank you to those of you who helped us with Network New York over the winter break by arranging a shadow experience. If you or a business contact has internship or job openings, please let us know.
All the best,
Mary Meany ’83
Dean of Career Services
