Launched in 2008, Lawrence Scholars in Business (LSB) is designed for students who are interested in distinguishing themselves as strong candidates for careers in the competitive world of business, including:

• banking
• consulting
• marketing
• arts management
• insurance
• international finance
• entrepreneurship
• investment management

Students interested in Business have participated in trips to Chicago, Milwaukee and Minneapolis surrounding areas to connect with alumni. In Chicago, students connect with alumni at Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Madison Dearborn Partners, Coyote Logistics, Deloitte, LBC Credit Partners, Inc., Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago, Neuberger Berman, Abbott Laboratories, Navigant Consulting, Inc., Startup Institute (1871), McKinsey & Company, Inc., Northern Trust, and Allstate Insurance Company. In Milwaukee visits include Wells Fargo Bank Wisconsin NA, Heartland Advisors, Generation Growth Capital, Inc., Deloitte & Touche, and Robert W. Baird & Co., Inc.   In Minneapolis and the surrounding areas visits include RBC Wealth Management, Krista Tippett Public Productions/On Being, Optum and Gravie.

Lawrence Scholars in Business (LSB) Award!

The Lawrence Scholars in Business (LSB) award is designed for students who are interested in distinguishing themselves as strong candidates for careers in the competitive world of business. Each year, 1-3 candidates will receive funding to support their summer internships.

Student should apply for funding to support the summer internship after they have secured a summer internship. Applications open on January 1, 2019 via the main internship funding application (coming soon) and close March 14, 2019. Decisions will be made through a selection committee and students are notified at the end of April.

Tip: Many internships in business and entrepreneurship are posted in fall term for the following summer. Be sure to contact the CLC for assistance in securing a summer internship.
