Each residence hall has a professional residence hall director, with a special interest and training in residence education. The Residence Hall Director oversees the general day-to-day operations of the hall, supervises the Residence Life Advisors (RLAs), works closely with Hall Council to plan programs and activities for the hall, and is available for help with personal problems that may arise throughout the year. The Residence Hall Director lives in the apartment on the main floor of each of the halls in order to be accessible and available. Residence Hall Directors also serve the university in another capacity outside their halls, working in collateral assignments in a number of student-focused departments.
The Campus Life Office is part of the Division of Student Life. We work with the approximately 1400 residents on campus and close to 100 student organizations to promote the ideals of an active and engaged residential campus.
In addition to maintaining daily operations of the Campus Life Office in the Warch Campus Center, the Campus Life staff is responsible for the general operations of the residence halls and houses on campus. The Residence Hall Directors (RHDs), Residence Life Advisors (RLAs), and Residence Life Managers (RLMs) play an integral role in the development of a meaningful living and learning environment here on campus.
