Consisting of engaged and dedicated Lawrence and Milwaukee-Downer alumni and friends of the university, Legacy Circle Gift Planning Chairs assist Lawrence in promoting the Legacy Circle to classmates and peers. Chairs serve as a resource for current and prospective Legacy Circle members, participate in Legacy Circle programs and events, and provide feedback on initiatives.
Co-chairs Marlene Crupi Widen M-D'55 and David Mitchell '71 recognize the importance and necessity of legacy giving and its impact on the future of Lawrence University.
Marlene's reasons for making a legacy gift reflect her appreciation for the education she received and the friends she made at Milwaukee-Downer College. Her legacy also ensures the traditions of Downer remain at Lawrence.
David believes one of the best ways of saying "thanks" is with a legacy he and his wife Judy have arranged through giving a portion their estate.
More than 850 members of the Lawrence and Downer Legacy Circle members will ensure the future vitality of Lawrence for years to come.
