Interest in singing onstage has never been higher—but how to prepare for auditions to get that coveted role? The proverbial description of the multitalented dancing and singing actor as a triple threat is intimidating—and so is the competition!
In our one-week day camp for budding Broadway stars, teachers Carol Jegen and Corrie Kovacs will teach middle and high school students how to make the most of their abilities. We will work individually on several Broadway songs that we will then present in a showcase at the end of the week. Topics covered include good singing technique, healthy belting, selecting material, acting the story of the song, bringing the song to life, research tools, knowing your type, movement /dance, and more! Students will have group classes as well as individual coaching. Enrollment limited to 20 students per level.
A showcase presented on Friday evening is open to all families.
Applicants should send a short resume and at least two songs they are prepared to work on in coaching sessions. It is not mandatory, but suggested that selections be chosen from the Musical Theatre Anthology volumes from Hal Leonard publications. Materials may be mailed with application, or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
