Bethany Abrahamson '97 - Voice

Academy voice teacher smiling wearing a blue necklace and black top.Bethany Abrahamson is a graduate of the Lawrence Conservatory of Music having earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance. She has performed with a myriad of ensembles and performance troupes over the past two decades, including the Florentine Opera Chorus, Off the Wall Theatre, Master Singers of Milwaukee, Attic Theatre, Riverside Players, UW Fox Theatre, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Milwaukee, and First Congregational UCC-Appleton. She was also employed as a music engraver at Hal Leonard Corporation in Milwaukee, the world’s largest sheet music publisher.

For the past 20 years, Bethany has taught private voice lessons from home and at various other locations including Cascio Music in New Berlin, Appleton West High School, and Appleton East High School. In addition to private lessons Bethany has served as a music director for student programs and productions such as First-Act Summer Camp with Falls Patio Players in Menomonee Falls, Annie Jr with the Xavier Theatre Academy, and Shrek at Appleton North High School. She has also provided vocal direction for adult cast members in local theatrical productions such as UW Fox Theatre’s productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Hairspray, as well as The Pajama Game and Guys on Ice with Riverside Players in Neenah. Her direction expanded into the realm of choral directing in 2012 when she served as Interim Choral Director at Zion Lutheran Church of Appleton.

Currently Bethany serves as both Music Director and Choral Conductor for Christmas Stars and the Northeast Wisconsin Passion Play for the St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System in Appleton. In addition to conducting the adult choir she also creates professional performance tracks for their productions, as well as arranging and composing original music for both the adults and children’s choruses.
